Alice in the City Section of the Rome Film Festival dedicated to the cinema for children, now houses an interesting film in competition, Death of a Superhero, directed by Ian Fitzgibbon, Irish filmmaker who wrote and directed the award-winning television series Paths To Freedom. A Film With Me In It (2008) and Perrier's Bounty (2009) is his first feature of this was presented in Rome.
He arrived today at the Rome Film Festival 2011 Andy Serkis, best known as Gollum from The Lord of the Rings (also involved in the prequel to the saga, The Hobbit) with Death of a Superhero.
The protagonist is Donald (Thomas Brodie Sangster-), a very sick child who hopes to fight the pain as his comic book drawings. These are for him inspired a parallel world, where Donald is no longer the skinny teenager sick, but becomes a strong superhero who fights his arch enemy: a mad scientist who has needles instead of fingers. It will be his therapist (Andy Serkis), to be able to challenge his solitude to give him the courage to face all the necessary tests ...
